The Blog

In Los Angeles, the atmosphere of the restaurant is just as important as the food itself! LA is home to some of the most gorgeous restaurants in the world. Get your Instagram ready and make your reservations for these Los Angeles restaurant architecture must see eateries:

Republique on La Brea

This space, with its gothic arches and distinctive blue and yellow Spanish mosaic tile water fountain, was actually built by Charlie Chaplin back in 1928 as an office space. It sat vacant for many years, for 20 years it was the location for famed restaurant Campanile. When the new owners purchased it, they wanted to honor the previous restaurant, as well as the history of the building.

The owner has incorporated antiques and found objects with the original 1920s tile to put you back in time. Enjoy the delicious baked goods and a 10-foot long charcuterie board in this stunning restaurant.

Commissary in Koreatown

Enjoy a meal in a real-life rooftop greenhouse. Poised on top of The Line Hotel in Koreatown, Commissary is enclosed in a glass greenhouse, accessorized by green vines and hanging planters. It’s one of the most unique dining destinations in all of LA!

You won’t be surprised that the greenery influenced the menu, which focuses on vegetables, like grilled corn, asparagus, and salads galore. It’s a fantastic spot during the day or at night.

Gwen in Hollywood

LA is full of casual restaurants where people wear ripped jeans and bring their dogs. For those of you craving a more elegant dining experience, Gwen is for you. Its Art Deco feel will have you wishing you wore a flapper dress. Housed in a 1920s building, it’s the perfect homage to Old Hollywood glamour. The restaurant has everything you expect, from luxurious fabrics to chandeliers to pink marble-topped bars.

This meat-focused eatery lets you select your own steak knife to dig into their home-smoked lamb and other courses from the $95 tasting menu.

In LA, we come for the food, but stay for the architecture.
